AirAsia X to Offer Flight Services to Adelaide, Australia

The budget carrier is going to operate four times in a week from its hub in Kuala Lumpur to Adelaide International Airport deploying Airbus A330-300 aircraft with seating capacity of 377 passengers. Moreover, these flights will provide broad access to natives of Adelaide. They will be able to reserve tickets for AirAsia X flights and draw advantages from its wide-ranging network to over 80 destinations across 20 countries like Kuala Lumpur, Osaka, Singapore or Bali.

Adelaide is the fifth Australian destination after the Gold Coast, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. These services are the only direct low-cost flights connecting Malaysia and Adelaide. It is also offering promotional fares for online tickets booking. 

The announcement for these flights was made in Adelaide by airline’s Chief Executive Officer Azran Osman-Rani at a meeting attended by South Australia’s Premier and Tourism Minister.

Air India to Begin Direct Services to Australia

In a bid to offer tickets for direct flights from India to Australia, Air India, the national carrier of the nation is commencing direct services to Australia from August 29, 2013.  

The flag carrier will fly a triangular route between Delhi, Sydney and Melbourne using its state of the art fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. 

The airline is planning to offer tickets for three weekly flights on Delhi–Melbourne–Sydney–Delhi and four weekly on Delhi – Sydney – Melbourne – Delhi to ensure wide connection between the three major metropolises of both the countries. 

According to the Commercial Director, the carrier split direct services between Sydney and Melbourne to provide "both cities the benefits of non-stop services".

As yet there are no direct flights from India to Australia. Singapore Airlines running flights via Singapore is the most popular one that offers indirect connections to Australia. 

With the start of these services, both business as well as leisure travellers seeking tickets for the route can now take advantage and fly directly to the continent. They can enjoy special features of avant-garde Dreamliner and reserve tickets for 256 seats including 18 in business class. Fliers can also enjoy the wide-ranging in-flight entertainment and meals.  

The carrier has opened tickets reservations for the flights scheduled to operate on the sector, revealed the online sources.
